UPDATE #2: Dave Seddon of the Lancashire Post has just published a piece stating that Sinclair is due to land back in the UK later this evening ahead of a permanent deal to join Preston North End. The club are hopeful of getting a deal done ahead of Saturday’s game against Blackburn Rovers. *We have updated our piece to reflect this news of a permanent deal.*

If reports coming out of Scotland are to be believed, Scott Sinclair is ‘on the verge’ of sealing a move to join Alex Neil’s North End side.
According to the Daily Record and the Scottish Sun, he is travelling back to the UK from the Bhoys’ training camp in Dubai to hold talks with North End ahead of a possible move to Deepdale. We believe it would be a loan move should something be agreed upon but we think there’s a way to go in this one just yet. *This now looks to be a permanent deal should it happen with the 30-year old due back in England later on this evening.*

Sinclair is famously engaged to Helen Flanagan who is known for her role in Coronation Street and in the past, there has been talk on social media that a move back to England, specifically the North West would suit Scott, his fiance and their two daughters. Whether or not this is the case, who knows?
He’s got a decent enough scoring record from his trophy-laden 3-year spell up in Scotland having hit 62 goals in 167 appearances. There’s no doubt he’s a player who would improve the starting XI for us and would definitely be considered a replacement for Callum Robinson, maybe even an upgrade.
Sinclair is a player that would no doubt galvanise the fans and give everyone a bit of a boost after a recent dip in form.
Alex Neil said on Football Focus on Saturday ahead of the Norwich City defeat that he felt we could do with a fresh face or two to lift the fans and the squad for the second half of the season. Scott Sinclair would certainly provide that.

There was interest in him in the summer from North End but the player apparently wasn’t convinced about joining us but it looks like things have changed. He’s featured 7 times so far for Neil Lennon this season and perhaps he thought he could break into the side under the new manager this season.
Obviously hasn’t happened and according to Celtic sources quoted in the Scottish press, it seems as though Sinclair has been given permission by Celtic and will be meeting North End officials to discuss a move to Lancashire.
